FULL ITINERARY THROUGH ALL THE AREAS OF THE ALHAMBRA

The Generalife Palace concentrates one of the most recognisable areas of the Alhambra, linked to the palace and the gardens. Within this area are spaces such as the Patio de la Acequia, the Patio de la Sultana and the Water Staircase, three points integrated into this part of the monumental complex.

Further on, the visit passes through the Comares Baths or Royal Hammam, the baths linked to the Comares Palace. Here the steam rooms, the vaults with skylights in lobed and star shapes and the underfloor heating system are preserved, elements characteristic of the structure of this space.

The military part of the route appears in the Alcazaba, the defensive enclosure of the Alhambra. In this area is the Military Quarter, related to the garrison that occupied this part of the complex, as well as spaces such as the Torre de la Vela and the Garden of the Adarves.

The final stretch leads to the Palace of Charles V, a Renaissance building raised inside the Alhambra from 1526. One of its most recognisable features is its floor plan, organised around a circle inscribed in a square, within the monumental complex itself.

One moment that really stood out to me was the way she explained the wooden ceilings, something I would have completely overlooked on my own, but she made it fascinating. Amelia is energetic, funny, incredibly patient, and very caring. She constantly checked in on everyone, made sure we were comfortable, and never made the tour feel rushed. The pacing was perfect. Even if someone needed a quick stop, she made sure everyone felt included and taken care of. One of the things I appreciated most was how engaged she kept the group the entire time. She has a natural way of making everything feel alive and enjoyable, not like a typical “information-heavy” tour. She also went above and beyond by helping us take photos and pointing out the best photo spots, which made a huge difference. On top of that, she gave great tips at the end for places to eat and additional spots to visit within the Alhambra. Honestly, if I had done this on my own, I would have missed so much. In just a few hours, I learned and experienced far more than I ever could have by myself. I left feeling truly grateful. I recommend this company and Amelia 3000%, the tour was absolutely amazing.

View on Google MapsThis tour should not been taken by anyone who is not in pretty good physical condition as there are a LOT of steps and lots of walking. That said, this two part tour was brilliant. Both guides we had were friendly and very knowledgeable and made the tours interesting. We took the bus (C32) from the Isabel la catolica stop and got it back to the same stop. You can walk but we were so tired after the tour we decided not to. Definitely a tour we would recommend.

Besides giving us history lessons and stories, she also offered tips and places to go for food and scenery. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable tour. Love to do it with her on another tour.
