The private visit covers the complete Alhambra fortress complex, but it is organised around the time slot for the Nasrid Palaces, the only area with access by assigned time. That is why the order may vary depending on your group's ticket, without missing any of the main parts.

Between the Generalife and the Palace of Charles V we cross the Secano or Medina, the inner city of the Alhambra where some 4,000 people lived. Here you can see archaeological remains and the Parador de San Francisco, a former Muslim palace converted into a convent by Isabella the Catholic in the 15th century and now one of the most sought-after hotels in the country.

In many slots we start with the Nasrid Palaces, because they set the pace of the route. It is the longest part and the one that takes the most time, with explanation of the architecture, the plasterwork, the tilework and life inside the former Nasrid residence. From there, the tour continues to the Palace of Charles V, setting the contrast between the medieval complex and the Renaissance building inside the enclosure.

Then comes the Alcazaba, the oldest, military area, with stops to understand its defensive role and enjoy the views from the towers. The visit is completed in the Generalife, the sultans' place of rest and its gardens, where the route ends with a clear reading of why this place defines Granada.

Occasionally the route may be adjusted because of conservation work, restoration or operational changes at the monument, but the tour always keeps the same areas open to the public and the focus on the essentials.

The start time can be chosen between 8:30 and 15:00, depending on the availability of Alhambra tickets.
Spanish: October to March, slots 9:00–12:00 and 14:30–17:30. April to October, 9:00–12:00 and 16:30–19:30.
English: 12:00 to 15:00 all year round.
French: 11:30 to 14:30 all year round, except Mondays and Sundays.
Personalising the route
As it is a private visit, the guide adapts the pace to your group, keeping the order determined by access to the Nasrid Palaces.
Accessibility
With a wheelchair accessibility is very limited: the Alcazaba cannot be visited, and the Generalife and the Nasrid Palaces are covered in a reduced form. Pushchairs cannot be brought in; they must be left in the lockers (free with a ticket and ID). We recommend a backpack or baby carrier.

Meeting point
Paseo del Generalife 1F, on the esplanade next to the ticket offices where there is a sign reading GUÍAS. The team waits with an orange umbrella. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the start time.
Confirmation
Once the booking is made, the team will confirm and arrange everything. You will receive by email the voucher with the meeting point, the location map, the tour description and the time. Just show the voucher to the guide on your phone; no need to print it.
Families and pets
It is a family-friendly visit. Pushchairs cannot be brought into the monument, but they can be left in the lockers on showing your ticket and ID. Pets are not allowed on the visit.
Languages and groups
Spanish, English and French. Groups do not mix languages. For groups needing a bilingual visit, a guide who speaks both languages can be requested.

View on Google MapsThis tour should not been taken by anyone who is not in pretty good physical condition as there are a LOT of steps and lots of walking. That said, this two part tour was brilliant. Both guides we had were friendly and very knowledgeable and made the tours interesting. We took the bus (C32) from the Isabel la catolica stop and got it back to the same stop. You can walk but we were so tired after the tour we decided not to. Definitely a tour we would recommend.

No. On this private Alhambra Granada tour the service includes an official tourist guide and, if you are 6 or more, a personal wireless audio system. Patronato tickets are not included, so you must have bought them to be able to enter the complex. If you do not have them, contact us immediately.

Pushchair: you cannot enter the monument with a pushchair, but it can be left in the lockers on showing your ticket and ID. Wheelchair: access and the route are different and more limited, because the accessibility of the complex is restricted in several areas.
What happens if I do not have tickets or cannot get Nasrid Palaces for that day?
If you do not have the right ticket, especially the one that includes the Nasrid Palaces with a time slot, you will not be able to access all the areas of the route. The key is to secure them in advance because the time slots sell out and determine the order and content of the tour. If you do not have them, contact us immediately.
