ITINERARY OF THE PRIVATE TOUR OF THE ALHAMBRA AND THE HISTORIC NEIGHBOURHOODS

The visit begins at the Alhambra, the complex where the Nasrid dynasty set up the seat of the court and built the palatine city on the Sabika hill. This first part of the route includes the main spaces open to the public: Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba, Palace of Charles V and Generalife Palace. The order may change depending on the time assigned for access to the Nasrid Palaces.

The route then leaves the monument and continues through the Albaicín, the historic quarter spread out opposite the Alhambra hill. On this stretch, the route lets you follow the relationship between the two areas through streets and points closely tied to the urban history of Granada. The visit passes the area around Plaza de Santa Ana and the Carrera del Darro, and from there moves up to the upper part of the quarter, where places such as the Mirador de San Nicolás appear within a layout marked by slopes, cármenes and narrow streets.

The last part enters the Sacromonte, on the eastern hillside, a very recognisable area of the city for its development around the caves and its position facing the Alhambra. Here the route follows the natural path from the Albaicín into the neighbourhood, covering a stretch that completes the visit outside the monumental enclosure. In this way, the tour organises in a single activity entry to the Alhambra and the route through two historic neighbourhoods that are a direct part of the image and history of Granada.

ACCESSIBILITY
Comfortable footwear is recommended. Pushchairs cannot be brought into the monument, although they can be left in the lockers on showing your ticket and ID. For wheelchair users, access is different and more limited.

Because of the policy applied to named Alhambra tickets, this visit is non-refundable once the booking is confirmed. No refunds are accepted.
To enter the monument, the ticket is personal and non-transferable. During the visit it may be compulsory to show the ticket together with your ID or original passport.

View on Google MapsThis tour should not been taken by anyone who is not in pretty good physical condition as there are a LOT of steps and lots of walking. That said, this two part tour was brilliant. Both guides we had were friendly and very knowledgeable and made the tours interesting. We took the bus (C32) from the Isabel la catolica stop and got it back to the same stop. You can walk but we were so tired after the tour we decided not to. Definitely a tour we would recommend.
