History of La Chana in Granada
In the past, during the Nasrid period, we know the land was used for farming, since it was very fertile. The Granada plain in this area supplied produce to feed the city.
The modern development of the neighbourhood began in the 1950s, when the first houses were built on what had been the old Casería de La Chana. This farming origin explains the name of the neighbourhood, which comes from this old estate that covered much of the land.
